The beginning of a creative relief

Centered in Mississauga, Little Book Wyrm is a proud business owned and operated by one woman, Sophie. She has been making jewellery for over ten years but started working with polymer last year as a method to manage her stress and anxiety. More than a brand, it proves how craft and creativity help release tension and combat anxiety.

Polymer Clay Jewellery Artistic Process

Sophie works most evenings with polymer clay, making different earrings and pendant necklaces. Making spooky stuff all year round fills her with joy. She works passionately and likes to try new methods and materials with the clay, like alcohol ink and gold leaf.

Learning from her own experiences and having a nickel allergy, she finds her pieces of work comfortable to wear without allergic reactions. All the earrings are made using hypoallergenic materials and only stainless steel or 18k gold plated attachments. Most of the earrings pieces are light and comfortable to wear. A few larger designs are a little heavier, but you can find the exact weight by contacting her on the Little Book Wyrm site.

Inspirations and Favourites

As a book lover and fan of all things spooky and freaky, Sophie wants to bring the spooky to others through her innovative creations, a creative spirit that has come from her childhood. Horror movies and creepy tales like The Lost Boys, Pet Cemetery, The Shining, and Creepshow are some of her favourite movies and shows. She also often finds her inspiration in nature, dark images such as skulls and bats, and everything related to vampires. All these examples fall into her creations, whether they are beautiful earrings in the shape of coffins, mushrooms, ghosts or more gothic accessories.

Mental Health and Creativity

Sophie wants our readers to know that all her creations are handmade and that she firmly believes creativity is essential for mental health. For Sophie, crafting is not just a means of artistic expression; it's a lifeline in the stormy sea of mental health. A powerful tool to fight the shadows of the mind.
